Why am I no longer receiving emails from other members?

Ensure direct replies to your Forum postings reach your inbox.

Front Porch Forum uses a secure email relay system to protect your privacy. When a member replies to your posting using the "Contact Author" button, the message is sent through our system and delivered to your inbox from an anonymous address.

Because these emails come from a unique FPF address rather than a standard personal email, your email provider might occasionally mistake them for spam.

If you suspect you are missing replies, here are a few steps you can take to improve email delivery:

  • Check spam or junk folders: If you find an FPF email in your spam filter, mark it as "Not Spam." Please avoid marking all emails from Front Porch Forum as spam, as this may affect your ability to receive emails from other members.
  • Check inbox tabs: Email providers like Gmail and Outlook often sort emails into tabs (e.g “All Mail," "Promotions," or "Updates"). Check these tabs and move any FPF emails to your primary inbox. Doing this will train your email provider to send these messages to the right place.
  • Update safelists and filters: Add “@mail.frontporchforum.com” to your email provider’s safelist or email filters to ensure emails from other members reach you. The process of doing this depends on which email service you’re using: Here are instructions.

In some cases, you may be alerted on the FPF website that our system has had difficulties delivering FPF messages to you. Follow the prompts to improve email delivery.
