How do event and posting limits work?

Events and postings can be submitted separately, and have different monthly limits.

Content can be submitted on the Compose page

Selecting the “Announcement” and/or “Event” category allows you to control where your message will appear. Only content with the “Event” category will appear on the calendar. 

You can choose to submit content to the Forum only, Calendar only, or to both the Forum and Calendar.

There are separate limits for Forum postings and Calendar events. The specific limits depend on profile type.

  • Forum Only submissions (postings) count towards a profile's monthly posting limit – not the event limit.
  • Calendar Only submissions (events) count towards a profile's monthly event limit – not the posting limit.
  • Forum + Calendar submissions count towards both a profile's monthly posting and event limits.

Adding Multiple Events to the Calendar

If you wish to place multiple events on the Calendar, FPF recommends submitting each one separately, using the “Calendar Only” option. Then, you can post a single “digest” of all of the events in the Announcement category (using the “Forum Only” option). This will help to “conserve” your postings, and lends itself to a better Forum reading experience.
