How can I use FPF as a candidate for elected office?

FPF offers a variety of free and paid options for candidates to connect with voters.

Candidates posting content related to campaigning must do so from a Candidate profile. There are two ways to set up a Candidate profile.

  • Set up a new account: To request a Free Candidate profile, create a new account using your campaign email address and select the "Candidate" option under "Join the Conversation." (If you have an existing FPF account you may need to log out of that account first.)

    - OR -
  • Use an existing account: Make sure you're logged into the FPF account you'd like to use, and then click here to request a Candidate profile. Please do not use an official government email address for your Candidate profile.

You can use your Candidate profile to post up to five times per month to your home Forum, with a maximum of 2,000 characters per posting. If your jurisdiction includes multiple Forums, you’ll need to pay to post outside of your home Forum.

You can find more information on how to post here. With each posting, you’ll be identified as a candidate, along with the office for which you are running.

Endorsements, or other campaign-related content posted on behalf of someone else, must be submitted from a Neighbor profile – not a Government profile.

These guidelines are intended to promote fair access to FPF around elections, for both incumbents and challengers. More at our Terms of Use (no. 3).
