Suggestions for how to assess a service provider you’re considering working with.
FPF does not screen or evaluate the organizations within the Directory, and while we certainly hope for the best from our neighbors, FPF is not immune from scammers and bad actors. To evaluate a service provider or business you’re considering working with, you could:
- Post to your Forum to ask for local recommendations from your neighbors.
- Post to your Forum to inquire about a specific business (for example: “Has anyone had positive or negative experiences working with this business in the past?”).
- Check the Secretary of State’s contractor registry, for any residential construction work valued at more than $10,000.
If you had a poor experience with a business, you can share it with your neighbors on your Forum. If you are concerned that a business has violated FPF’s Terms of Use, feel free to reach out to Member Support.
