Who should use a Government profile on FPF?

Guidelines for public officials, departments, and leaders using Front Porch Forum

Front Porch Forum is a powerful tool for local leaders, municipal staff, and school officials to share important information and connect with the residents they serve.

Using a Government profile attaches your official title to your Forum postings, helping members easily identify you and the organization you represent.

We welcome those in a wide variety of public roles to utilize Government profiles, including:

  • Elected Officials: State representatives, state senators, mayors, selectboard members, city councilors, and other elected leaders.
  • County Officials: Elected and appointed county leaders.
  • Town Administrators: Town managers, administrators, and clerks.
  • Town Departments: Staff representing municipal services, such as libraries, parks & recreation, and public works.
  • Town Volunteers: Members of municipal commissions, committees, or boards who are tasked with public outreach.
  • School Administrators: Superintendents, principals, and other district-level leaders.
  • School Volunteers: School board members, school committee members, and PTO/PTA leaders tasked with public outreach.

Verification

To help keep FPF secure and accurate, our staff reviews and verifies all requests for Government profiles. Once your profile is approved, your name, official title, and organization will be publicly listed on your local Forum's Participating Local Officials page.

Posting and Event Limits

Government profiles are provided at no cost for use within your home Forum. This free plan allows you to submit up to (10) Forum postings and up to (40) Calendar events per month.

Reaching Multiple Forums

If your jurisdiction extends beyond your own neighborhood, paid Custom Access profile plans are available. A Custom Access plans allows municipalities, school districts, and other government entities to seamlessly publish postings and calendar events across multiple FPF areas.
